ALUMNI ASSOCIATION CHARTER


ARTICLE I – RECOGNITION

The Victoria International College Alumni Association (“the Alumni Association”) is recognized by Victoria International College (“the College”) as representing all graduates and former students who have successfully completed programs offered by the College.

The Alumni Association operates under the governance framework of Victoria Education Group and in alignment with the College’s mission, values and strategic direction.

All legal and financial matters shall be administered by Victoria Education Solutions Inc., or its authorized corporate entity.


ARTICLE II – PURPOSE

The Alumni Association exists to:

  • Foster lifelong connection between graduates and the College

  • Support professional networking among alumni

  • Promote career advancement and continuing education

  • Strengthen the reputation and influence of Victoria International College

  • Encourage alumni participation in mentorship, referrals and community engagement

The Alumni Association serves as a bridge between past graduates, current students and industry partners.


ARTICLE III – OUR ALUMNI COMMUNITY

We are professionals, auditors, accountants, career changers and industry leaders who have advanced through Victoria International College.

We are:

  • Career builders

  • Ethical professionals

  • Lifelong learners

  • Mentors and advocates

  • Contributors to economic growth

The Alumni Association builds a proud and connected professional community through:

  • Networking events

  • Continuing education programs

  • Industry panels and seminars

  • Career mentorship initiatives

  • Alumni recognition awards


ARTICLE IV – VALUES

The Alumni Association is guided by the following values:

Professional Excellence

Upholding high standards of competence and ethical conduct.

Integrity

Promoting honesty, accountability and professional responsibility.

Community

Building supportive relationships among alumni and with the College.

Service

Giving back through mentorship, referrals and leadership.

Lifelong Learning

Encouraging continuous professional development and knowledge sharing.


ARTICLE V – MEMBERSHIP

Eligibility

Membership in the Alumni Association is open to:

  • Graduates of certificate or diploma programs

  • Individuals who have completed professional training programs

  • Honorary members approved by the Alumni Council

Membership may be automatic upon graduation unless otherwise specified by College policy.


ARTICLE VI – GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE

Alumni Council

The Alumni Association shall be led by an Alumni Council.

The Alumni Council shall:

  • Provide advisory input to the College

  • Promote alumni engagement initiatives

  • Support strategic alumni relations activities

  • Represent alumni interests

The Alumni Council operates in an advisory capacity. Final decision-making authority rests with the College and its governing Board.


Leadership

The Alumni Council shall include:

  • President of the Alumni Association

  • Vice President

  • Secretary

  • Council Members

Members shall be appointed or elected according to terms of reference approved by the College.


ARTICLE VII – RELATIONSHIP WITH THE COLLEGE

The Alumni Association maintains a formal connection with the College’s Executive Leadership.

The President of the Alumni Association shall:

  • Meet annually with College leadership

  • Provide updates on alumni engagement initiatives

  • Offer recommendations to strengthen alumni relations

The College retains final authority over:

  • Budget allocations

  • Legal agreements

  • Brand usage

  • Official communications


ARTICLE VIII – STRATEGIC ENGAGEMENT

The Alumni Association may:

  • Collaborate with the College to develop alumni engagement strategies

  • Support recruitment initiatives

  • Encourage corporate partnerships

  • Promote continuing education programs

All initiatives must align with the College’s mission and receive appropriate approval.


ARTICLE IX – BRAND & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Alumni Association may use the name and marks of Victoria International College for approved purposes.

All trademarks, branding and intellectual property remain the property of Victoria Education Group or its authorized corporate entity.


ARTICLE X – FINANCIAL FRAMEWORK

The Alumni Association does not operate as an independent legal entity unless otherwise formally established.

Any funds generated through alumni initiatives shall:

  • Be managed by the College or its authorized corporate entity

  • Be allocated in alignment with institutional priorities


ARTICLE XI – DATA & PRIVACY

Alumni information shall be managed in accordance with Canadian privacy laws and College policies.


ARTICLE XII – AMENDMENT

This Charter may be amended by resolution of the governing Board of Victoria Education Group upon recommendation from the Alumni Council.
